Our rules and policies are carefully crafted to safeguard the community from harassment, threats, misinformation, and manipulation. While diverse perspectives and ideas are welcomed, any form of harassment, threats, or intimidation is strictly prohibited.

If you encounter any user, post, or activity that violates these policies, we encourage you to report it to us promptly. Our enforcement actions may include issuing warnings, removing content, temporarily suspending accounts, or permanently banning accounts. 

Safety:

Harassment & Bullying: Any behavior intended to threaten, intimidate, or harm others, or create a hostile environment, including doxing, continuous negative comments, or abusive behavior, is not tolerated.

Hate Speech: Attacks based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity are prohibited.

Promotion of Suicide or Self-Harm: Content that encourages or promotes suicide or self-harm is strictly forbidden.

Violence: Threats or promotion of violence against individuals or groups are not allowed.

Terrorism/Extremism: Promotion, encouragement, or incitement of terrorist acts or content supporting terrorist organizations is prohibited.

Inappropriate/Illegal Content:

Adult Nudity & Sexual Content: Pornographic material or content intended to cause sexual arousal, including nudity or simulated sexual acts, is not permitted, with exceptions for specific contexts.

Child Sexual Exploitation: Any form of sexualization or exploitation of children, including sharing explicit media or engaging in explicit conversations, is strictly prohibited.

Violent, Gory, or Graphic Content: Media depicting graphic or gruesome violence, injury, or mutilation is not allowed, except for specific purposes like documentary or educational content.

Impersonation: Impersonating individuals, groups, or organizations to mislead or deceive others is forbidden.

Fraud: Deceptive practices to generate revenue or traffic, such as fake lotteries or phishing links, are prohibited.

Illegal Activities: Discussion or engagement in illegal activities, including trafficking or facilitating transactions of illegal goods or services, is not allowed.

Intellectual Property: Posting content or profile pictures that violate intellectual property rights, including trademarks, is not permitted.

Integrity:

Fake Engagement: Using third-party apps or services to artificially increase metrics like views or likes is not allowed.

Misinformation: Sharing false information that could cause harm, impact civic processes, or endanger public health is strictly prohibited.

Defamation: Making false statements that harm another person's reputation is not allowed.

Bots or Automation: Systematic or programmed manipulation of the service using bots or automation is forbidden.

Unsolicited Advertisements & Unauthorized Contests: Posting unsolicited advertisements or unauthorized contests, sweepstakes, and giveaways is not permitted.

Direct Messages: Our community guidelines also apply to direct messages, which are encrypted. However, we can monitor the contents if a recipient reports a message, enabling us to take enforcement actions if necessary.

• Select the More Options icon on the top right of the message or comment

OwnTweet Enforcement Policies

At OwnTweet, our aim is to combat targeted harassment, abuse, and disinformation. When we identify a violation of our platform's rules, we undertake various actions:

- Removing a spout that violates OwnTweet's policies: When this action is taken, the account owner will receive a notification detailing the violation. If they disagree with our decision, they have the option to dispute it.

- Notification regarding Direct Messages violating OwnTweet's policies: Direct Messages exchanged on OwnTweet are encrypted, making it challenging for us to monitor their contents unless reported by the recipient. However, harassing or threatening messages sent via Direct Message can lead to temporary or permanent account suspension.

- Account Suspension (temporary or permanent): Accounts that repeatedly breach OwnTweet's rules or exhibit severe violations may face temporary or permanent suspension. In the case of a permanent suspension, the account owner will be prohibited from creating new accounts on OwnTweet. If you believe there has been an error in the suspension of your account, you can appeal the decision.
